The losing team in that one (as shows in my "less than a preschooler" grasp of the language). And it didn't have (as much) deep rooted religious fervor driving it as this seems to have.StroppyChops wrote:Tell us about your heritage again... ?OrangeDragon wrote:i just want one side to wipe out the other and get this fucking over with... i'm not particularly keen on either side of the issue (they've both behaved terribly) so i don't care which one wins. i just want it done. and nothing short of one side completely wiping out the other will ever see it done.

Fair call - you know I was just pushing buttons, though.OrangeDragon wrote:The losing team in that one (as shows in my "less than a preschooler" grasp of the language). I've never understood why financial sanctions have not been applied whenever Israel flips the bird to the USA. Why?
Re: Don't attempt to discuss the Israel-Palestine conflict
Because if any US politician even tried to introduce such a bill to Congress, the reaction from the powerful pro-Israel lobby and media would crush that person mercilessly. They would be labelled as anti-semitic, pro-terrorist, pro al-Queda, modern day Nazis, pro killing of Jewish children, etc., and hounded out of office.Milord wrote:I've never understood why financial sanctions have not been applied whenever Israel flips the bird to the USA. That is the whole point of the John Stewart clip. Rational discussion is shut down brutally when it comes to this topic. It is the most obvious and appalling failure of the US political system, where outrageous amounts of money can be spent by private groups on electing candidates whom they approve, and pilloring candidates they oppose with nasty personal attack campaigns.

Seriously, what is the real story? I've been asked a few times as of recent but already given up following of the never end on going conflicts for so many years. You have the public views from what the media feed them, you have Israelis side of views, the politics experts, the evil US govt interference from expert analyzers...I am confused!

Actually my knowledge is mostly from a biblical perspective (so, biased), I wouldn't mind a rational summary either...flying chicken wrote:Seriously, what is the real story? So you're saying Jewish journalists (at least you are assuming they are Jewish) can not possibly be impartial and professional when it comes to reporting on Israel? I'm sure there are quite of few people who follow the Jewish faith all over the globe and are not Israeli citizens who are just as appalled by human rights abuses and innocent civilian deaths of Palestinians as any another group of humans...and that some of those fine humans are journalists.vladimir wrote:I do find it interesting when some networks send a Jewish reporter to Palestine, and after the Jewish guy is done reporting, the Jewish anchor speaks to a Jewish expert on security, or possibly a member of the IDF.
Definitely impartial.
The whole country of Israel should be treated (killed) that way? All innocent civilians? Women? Children? The million Muslim Arabs living withing Israel? Are they all part of the "fuckwits" you spoke of? So much for all your peace and social-justice-for-all crap, eh Vlad? You just proved yourself as a hypocrite and a heartless human being. What a disgusting thing to desire. Your favorite whipping boy boogey man George Bush looks like a saint compared to you.vladimir wrote: The whole country should be fenced off and filled with radioactive waste and let's be done with this crap based on some magical teddy bear telling people he gave the land to them. I said the country, not the people in it.
Has your knee stopped jerking now?
God, let's move on to rational discussion.
The land is the issue. Remove that and voila!

That has to be the lamest backtrack for an indefensible post in history.vladimir wrote:I said the country, not the people in it.
