I don't do DIY, hence my original question.
I tend to sleep in the nude. Which isn't a bad thing except for maybe on those long flights.

I suggest you use outdoor ip camera Samsung if your budget allow.

if you want to be able to access it remotely a dedicated IP address is far superior to the dynamic dns services you will find advertised.
your installer should be able to advise you on that.

another thing to if you put those cheap black webcams into the sun they will malfunction permanently in short shift

DIY.
As above but I would not use wifi. cable is more secure and not likely to suffer from interference. Camera Is of no use if its not sufficiently high quality to identify someone day or night and you need to store the images somewhere. Also be careful where you put them. you could upset your neighbours if its pointing off your property. if you want to get a good system pop into a newish hotel, see what they got and ask who fitted it
