Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

- A Frenchman confessed Tuesday to cutting the throat of his Thai lover’s Italian husband, police said.
Amaury Rigaud this morning said he was aided in the crime by Rujira Iemlamai – Giuseppe de Stefani’s wife. His confession came after the suspects turned on each other the day before, accusing the other of the crime.

Police said they’ve now dismissed claims of a “third killer,” and charged both with murder.

“He confessed to doing the actual killing, but we don’t believe him 100 percent,” Col. Chaisathian Maneejak, chief of the local police station investigating the crime, said Tuesday afternoon. “That’s why we are charging both of them. There’s no third killer either. Everything’s done.”

Rujira, 38, and Rigaud, 33, were captured in the wild along the provincial border between Kamphaeng Phet and Tak for allegedly dismembering and burning Giuseppe de Stefani.

Col. Chaisathian Maneejak of the local police station investigating the crime said that on the day of the murder, 61-year-old de Stefani told Rigaud he would break up with Rujira for 100,000 baht. The three were discussing terms but could not come to an agreement, a dispute which turned heated and resulted in the Italian’s murder.

The last kiss goodbye between two lovers convicted of murder
FRENCH-THAI MURDER: Phichit police on Sunday said a court convicted a Frenchman and his Thai girlfriend and sentenced them to lengthy jail terms for murdering the woman’s Italian husband earlier this year.

Col. Chaisathian Maneejak, chief of the local police, said the Phichit Provincial Court initially sentenced Rujira Iemlamai and Amaury Rigaud to 20 years in jail for murdering and dismembering Giuseppe de Stefani, but their sentences were reduced by a third for confessing.

Rujira, 38, got 14 years and 4 months while Rigaud, 33, got 14 years and 8 months. Chaisathian said the Frenchman was also found guilty of illegally entering the country. Both have been detained at the provincial correctional facilities.

The burnt remains of 61-year-old de Stefani was found Jan. 19 in the woods of Bueng Na Rang district. The couple was captured 10 days afterward in a forested area along the border of Tak and Kamphaeng Phet provinces.

Police said Rigaud served in the French army for years as a sniper and used his skills to evade authorities along with Rujira. He was blacklisted for overstaying his visa and has a multiple records of illegal entry to Thailand.
