Controversial building to be finished by 2019
- Construction of berated $240-million project Gold Tower 42 will resume early next year and is expected to finish by the end of 2019, according to an announcement made by the developer yesterday.
The project, developed by Yon Woo Cambodia, began in 2008 and has already been delayed three times: first in 2009, following the global financial crisis, and again in 2012. Construction resumed in 2013 and then stopped again in March last year. Despite these postponements the tower has reached 31 floors.
Yon Woo Cambodia – the company that owns the building – reached an agreement yesterday with Shenzhen Hongtao Decoration and Waiman Construction & Engineering to complete the project.
Kim Tae Yeon, president and chairman of Yon Woo Cambodia, told reporters after signing the agreement that the company will begin construction in early 2018 and complete the project by the end of 2019.
“I promise Prime Minister HE and the Cambodian people that the project will be ready by the end of 2019,” he said...

LOL, in October 2016 they promised to recommence work in February 2017. Is it going to be an annual event for them to make these announcements?

So some of the building that is already in place will be 10-15 years old (maybe more) by the time construction is completed. Future tenants should be sure that does not include mechanical systems.

Any warranty on the same systems would be void. Will they have to replace any prior to recommencing work?

saw a chinese article that gold tower will be revived and the very next day the twin towers is abandoned, hahahahahaha investors fatique or did the chinks finally realised that PP real estate is over supplied and demand is limited and rental market is sluggish in both high residential and office?

You wouldn't want to have bought an apartment on the lower ten floors on the east side. The daughter of someone very important put up a building about two meters away on that side. It would be a bit dark.

Kid's City is colorful and semi-transparent so you could do worse.
