Branson in a pickle.

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Well he has got to get the money to pay for his tax free island somewhere. The money he gets from the taxpayer for his virgin trains is not enough, the profits from his foray into the NHS won,t come online for another few years. Give the man a break

As soon as any forest is destroyed, its effect of balancing out emissions disappears. Storage of carbon in forests is highly reversible and volatile. It cannot be used to balance out airplanes’ release of carbon emissions into the atmosphere, which are permanent,”
Not a fully accurate statement and only true if the forest is "destroyed" by fire, not clear-cutting. Growing trees take carbon dioxide out of the air as they grow, converting the CO2 to plant material. Even when the trees are cut down, the CO2 is not released. If the wood is used for building materials or furniture, etc., that CO2 remains removed from the atmosphere and locked in solid carbon form within the wood. It would only be reversed if the resulting wood was burned completely to ash in which case most of CO2 would be reintroduced into the environment. And release of CO2 by airplanes is not necessarily permanent, because that CO2 can be absorbed by new plant growth if more trees are planted and allowed to grow, which is the basis for Virgin's CO2 offset scheme.

I really like his new airplane. Also, the man has balls. Afa his entering the NHS industry, I'm not so sure. I suspect the previous poster may well be right about it being money. But He brought out the first successful independent label, breaking the record companies monopoly on pricing and choice of artists, I really like Faust. He reduced the cost of train travel, breaking the monopoly, He introduced lower cost ta flights, breaking the monopoly, and BA's balls a couple of times. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if someone like him came to Cambodia? Still got the hair and that beard though...
