camping
I want to go camping. My friends say I am nuts and that I will be instantly killed by the wildlife. I disagree. I want to experience the solitude of nature without annoying people. I live in the area of Siem Reap. Don't want to squate on private land or get in any trouble.
Re: camping
Find atour company that does forest walks with overnight stays or try contacting the national parks. they usually have their own camping places which you may be able to use with a guide. Wild camping is incredibly dangerous here. There are big cats, bears, dog packs, bandits, wood smugglers, bushmeat hunters, poisonous snakes, scorpions. You have to know what you are doingCABMAN21 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2018 8:26 am I want to go camping. My friends say I am nuts and that I will be instantly killed by the wildlife. I disagree. Try Kirirom Park first, then get more adventurous.
You will need good security.
There are reasons why most Khmers don't go camping.

It's also hot as hell most of the time and you'd die of heat exhaustion in a tent.pczz wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2018 10:49 amFind atour company that does forest walks with overnight stays or try contacting the national parks. they usually have their own camping places which you may be able to use with a guide. Re: camping
Do they have drop bears in Cambodia?
Re: camping
I would not call these rare given how many are in the zoo here.https://cambodia.panda.org/projects_and_ ... /sun_bear/
they also have wild pigs and dogs and few big cats. Mobs of monkeys can do a lot of damage as well
