Isn't that the bar where that vile woman-beating Frenchman picked up the woman he beat unconscious a few nights ago?
Re: Bar For Sale
Why is there a $15,000 deposit on a $1500 p/m place?

Bar For Sale
Because some of the bars on 104 were forced to hand over rent deposits of up to 18 months when their leases came up for renewal over the last year or so. Greedy landlords taking advantage of the demand for space in that street at the time.Cam Nivag wrote:Why is there a $15,000 deposit on a $1500 p/m place?

Could be worse.
In Korea, the key money system requires the lessee to make a deposit of about two-thirds the total cost of the leased property in lieu of monthly payment. The key money is returned when the lease expires.

"The revolution did more than legally create the United States; it transformed American society... Far from remaining monarchical, hierarchy-ridden subjects on the margin of civilization, Americans had become, almost overnight, the most liberal, the most democratic, the most commercial minded, and the most modern people in the world." - Gordon S.
