WANTED: motocross type bike Siem Reap

Have a car, truck, motorcycle, or bicycle you'd like to sell? List it here for free. Heck, you can even buy and sell tuktuks or your pink Scoopy here. Remember, you need a driver's license in Cambodia for cars, trucks, and any motorbike that's over 125cc. And always wear a helmet!

WANTED: motocross type bike Siem Reap

Post by chorlton »

I arrive in Siem Reap on 23/11/17 & I'm looking for something like a Honda XR250.

Must be 100% legal/registered

Will be used locally daily, for day trips into the country at weekends & longer trips to PP/SNK occasionally too so must be in good working order. I've owned/ridden for 25years so please don't waste both our time with anything in poor condition.

Please reply ideally with pictures, detailed description & price.
Budget is flexible for the right bike. :tophat:

The perfect trail bike for Cambodia, but they do not import it

Word of warning. Check the oil filter. Khmer use crappy chinese shit and they often break up, or they use the wrong filter altogether

That's not a trail bike.
You could be next.

That ugly thing is aphilippine made dream and surprisingly good on dirt roads. Suzuki make a similar one with a 150cc called a raider. they were sellingthem here last year.

I don't like riding proper trail bikes here. too embarrassing for me. up on the pegs blasting along at 60kmh. then a feeble beep and grandma comes past with 3 kids on the back, a pig strapped across the front and texting and leaves you for dead. :good:

XR400 do have an oil filter is behind the cover front right in your picture.

Friend sold his one a month ago for $1300. Can be a pig to start if left for a while. if that happens trick is drain the carb using the drain screw. No idea why but it works and usually starts first or second kick after that :-) They can use oil as well so check it regular. Fork bushes, swingarm bearings and steering head don't last long if you drive like he did (ex motocrosser). Parts easy from DARA in Phnom penh if you have trouble getting anything. he has gasket, pistons, filters and all sorts of bearings and bushes. Enjoy
