A Khmer cultural buddhist Christmas blessing - Marry Deva-Uposatha

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

You'd be a hit with the Glory Holy gang.

Not really. The banter is usually very lively at the Glory Hole. This sort of person would be unlikely find someone to talk to.

They would be be better off at one of the girly bars in the square as inane and boring conversation is normal.

The Glory Hole is a bar girl free haven of bonhomie and witty repartee.

But thanks for thinking of us.

"'That's the way it is, householder. That's the way it is — for sorrow, lame0ntation, pain, distress, & despair are born from one who is dear, come springing from one who is dear.'

"'But, lord, who would ever think that sorrow, lamentation, pain, distress, & despair are born from one who is dear, come springing from one who is dear? Happiness & joy are born from one who is dear, come springing from one who is dear.' So, not delighting in the words of Gotama the contemplative, rejecting them, I got up from my seat and left."

"That's the way it is, householder [said the gamblers]. That's the way it is. Happiness & joy are born from one who is dear, come springing from one who is dear."

So the householder left, thinking, "I agree with the gamblers."

If not seeing things as they actually are, you would be bored thinking "What the hell are they talking about...?"

As the story of infinitive humor contains, they smile "at you" because they have gone and worked the ways through it already.

Just be dear to yourself! Even if not approaching, those Deva, Gods, even the good of them within yourself think of you and would always patently let you work out your genuinest smiles youself. Image Becoming another "hit of a Glory Holy gang"

The winners just smile and the losers say, "Deal, damnit, deal.". That's really how it is.

"Waffle, waffle, waffle."

Come to think of it I can't remember the last time I had waffles for breakfast.

You raise a point there. My dhama has been waffle free for a Buddha's age too.

That's why the real wise do not seek for both, don't seek after the 8 wordly Dhammas but for real treasurse no one can take away. And that is why they seek and well in pleasures which do not harm.
Winning gives birth to hostility.
Losing, one lies down in pain.
The calmed lie down with ease,
having set
winning & losing
aside.

Since this topic is still about wordily pleasures, yet in hevenly spheres, it's possible ok to supply some inspirations an a mirror for waffel and cookie monsters and the problem of falling again and again in usual liked ways:
Me Can Take Deep Breaths

When me lose control

When me have no doubt

Me have strategies

That can calm me down

Me can talk to self

Me can stand up straight

Me can take deep breaths

Me can self-regulate

..Me can?
