Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

yes i can confirm that the image on the right is definitely a motorbike and the one on the left is indeed a bus.with capitol tour in english and khmer on the front of the bus

only thing surprising is that it got into print. on road five it would look like it is a multiple/day occurrence to an unaccustomed eye.

So these drivers that are always fleeing the scene, I understand why but where do they go? Assuming they are sometimes 100s of km's away from home with no money, do they usually get picked up or just forgotten about by the police?

What happens to the passengers after they are abandoned by the driver?

Bus companies should be forced to keep a spare driver in the luggage hold in case the bus driver crashes and flees the scene.

my impression is that this fleeing driver phenomenon in the region is because that they fear for their safety as they may be beaten or killed at the scene by various interlopers. else they could have blood alcohol content or drug influence behavior
