15 May 2017. Today, the victim's stepson was formally charged with murder with premeditation, and his girlfriend charged with conspiracy to murder.
They risk life imprisonment.

An unverified post on Koon Khmer says this :

Besides the drugs; the 17-year-old suspect also tried to rape the victim (while his own wife was at work) and killed her to keep her from reporting the rape.

After the rape-murder and after his wife arrived back home he told her that he killed his stepmother because of a conflict. Both fled to the house of the killer's mother in law. The next day they sold/pawned the victim's belongings.

Hopefully, we've got the ages sorted out now - the victim was 18, her husband is 55, and the suspects are the husband's son aged 18 and his girlfriend, 17. Sad and sordid.

‘I killed Dad’s new wife’

Two people have been charged with the murder of the young wife of popular TV comedian Oeun Sarith. Mr Sarith’s eldest son and the son’s girlfriend were arrested on Friday. Oeun Sokhen,18, unemployed, is Mr Sarith’s son by his previous wife.

Sim Chanthy, 18, the second wife of the 55-year-old comedian known as Mr Honda, was found dead in her apartment in Taley village, Phnom Penh last Thursday.

A Phnom Penh Municipal Court clerk said deputy prosecutor Sin Vireak charged Mr Sokhen and karaoke girl Neth Rasmey Kanika, 17, yesterday with premeditated murder.
Ly Sokheng, of the municipal major crimes military police unit in Phnom Penh, said both admitted their guilt when questioned at military police headquarters.
They said they had been using drugs for many years.

“He did not plan to kill the victim, but during the theft she attacked him and tried to run for help. He killed her by strangling her with wire.”

Mr Sokheng said Mr Sokhen confessed to stealing the victim’s gold necklace, a pair of diamond rings, a mobile phone and a motorbike before fleeing after the murder.
The pair pawned the motorbike for $100 at a shop in Tuol Kork district. They then bought drugs to smoke in Ms Kanika’s room in Chroy Changvar district...

Says here that the suspect is 17yo, but it seems that he will be tried as an adult so he still risks life imprisonment.
