Don't bother with the spiders, they taste grim. The ichor in the abdomen is particularly unpleasant in texture and taste. Anything with spindly legs just gets them stuck in your teeth. My wife loves crickets but they always give her the shits. I prefer peanuts or crisps as a bar snack. Fried ants are ok, not a fan of larvae sprinkles on my salad, though

I wonder if the problem is not with the old truck engine oil or whatever they use to fry them. When I bought them off a street vendor, they also gave me the trots. When my then Chef made them for me, I had no problem. They also tasted a lot better, the problem with insects sold on the street is the often rancid smell coming off them.cptrelentless wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2017 6:54 pmMy wife loves crickets but they always give her the shits.

I like them too Jamie. Better then peanuts with a cold beer. But I agree with hanno the oil must be clean.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

I'm an American, I DON'T eat insects.

Do Cambodians kill and eat black widows too?

I assume this is in Cambodia:
"Life is too important to take seriously."
"Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh."
