So, what happened with your 20 Terabits of porn when you went through Cambodian Immigration? I'm guessing that nobody batted an eye, right?

Back in 2005 I was travelling buy bus through Poipet heading to Bangkok. I was carrying a box of Cambodia craft stuff from a friend to deliver to a Womens group in Australia. ( Yes i checked what was in it) It contained woodcrafted stuff a few scarves and material craft bits gathered from some provinces. I had a list of contents and also a list stuck to the box. The box was tied up with string and the handle was also of string. A customs officer on the road in no mand land ased what was in the box. I shower him a list in Khmer and my friend (khmer) explained what was in it. He said I would have to show him or pay a duty to take it over the border. I called his bluff and opend it up. He trashed the box and ghrew everything on the road but in the end , as a crowd had gathered, he had to let me go on my way. He confiscated the box and looked smug but as he walked away I produced a Annsett Airlines bag, packed everything in it and we left. Yes I know I was pushing the limits but at the time was a new traveller and ignorant of paying a bit to avoid problems. I would never try that shit again as him losing face in front of his people could have been very bad for me. Luckily i survived the encounter and never made such a stupid mistake again.

Oh yeah.. When flying into Hanoi (same trip) with a two litre bottle of Cottees Red Cordial in my bag the xray operators pulled it out and thought it was petrol. I had to open it and show them by sipping a bit that it was not any type of fuel. They all had a taste and then must have liked it because they had a conflab then confiscated it.

I did that with a bottle of my own piss. They mustn't have have liked the taste much because they didn't confiscate it. :plus1:

I and my 20 TB of ... well, not porn, actually ... made it without incident. Though when I got to my apartment and unpacked, I was amused to find a placard inside each suitcase apologizing for any damage resulting from the fact that both bags had been opened and inspected by the friggin' TSA in the US.
