Khmer-Thai Fight roadshow in Phnom Penh tonight
25 November 2017
PHNOM PENH - Renowned Muay Thai promotion Thai Fight brings its roadshow to Phnom Penh’s National Olympic Stadium tomorrow evening to showcase some of the greatest Muay Thai proponents to a Cambodian audience.
After three events held in Europe this year, the promotion hops over the border for what it has dubbed “Khmer-Thai Fight” the first of what organisers will hope will be a long and lasting relationship.
Speaking yesterday, event organisers, alongside sponsors Isuzu, said the showpiece is dedicated to promoting the “relationship of Thailand and Cambodia, as well as to penetrate AEC market and boost Thailand’s tourism.”
The headline bout will pit legendary Thai kickboxer Saenchai PKSaenchaimuaythaigym against USA’s Arthur Sorsor. The fight card also features a Team Thailand-Cambodia against Team Europe.
Cambodia’s Khim Dima will meet Russian Dimitri Mordinov, while Pich Mtes Kmang faces Jonathans Silva of Brazil.
Muay Thai, unlike Cambodia’s traditional martial arts Kun Khmer and Pradal Serey, tends to be more refined with less emphasis on the use of elbows. Keo Rumchong, Pich Seiha and Vong Noy are all notable Cambodian fighters who have competed in past Thai Fight events.

Time for Father James to drop the cassock and come out of retirement.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.
