Phnom Penh's "Gold Tower" to be finished in 2019

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Gold Tower has a troubled history. This is what the developer says, but there are still doubts...

Controversial building to be finished by 2019
- Construction of berated $240-million project Gold Tower 42 will resume early next year and is expected to finish by the end of 2019, according to an announcement made by the developer yesterday.

Kim Tae Yeon, president and chairman of Yon Woo Cambodia, told reporters after signing the agreement that the company will begin construction in early 2018 and complete the project by the end of 2019.
“I promise Prime Minister HE and the Cambodian people that the project will be ready by the end of 2019,” he said...

LOL, in October 2016 they promised to recommence work in February 2017. Is it going to be an annual event for them to make these announcements?

They have made about 5 or 6 of these announcements since work stopped.

So some of the building that is already in place will be 10-15 years old (maybe more) by the time construction is completed. Future tenants should be sure that does not include mechanical systems.

Any warranty on the same systems would be void. Will they have to replace any prior to recommencing work?

You wouldn't want to have bought an apartment on the lower ten floors on the east side. The daughter of someone very important put up a building about two meters away on that side. It would be a bit dark.

Kid's City is colorful and semi-transparent so you could do worse. The place is owned by Meng Hieng, a self-made man and not anybody important's daughter unless you know differently? :?
