Selling ketamine and pot
23 Nov 2017
A 29-year-old Indonesian tourist and gambler was yesterday charged by Banteay Meanchey Provincial Court for possessing almost one kilo of dried marijuana and four packages of ketamine powder.

Chan Ratha, deputy commander of Poipet City Military Police, identified the suspect as Beth Jonius, 29.

He said the man was arrested on Monday night in front of the Five-Star Casino at the Poipet International Border Checkpoint.

Military police seized four small packages of ketamine powder from the man and later discovered the marijuana when they carried out a search of his rental room.

“He was an active drug distributor who often sold drugs to other foreign drug users and gamblers,” Mr Ratha said. “He was arrested for selling drugs in front of a casino.”

The suspect was charged with drug use, trafficking and possession and sent by the investigative judge to prison awaiting further investigations.
He faces five to ten years in prison if convicted.
