A British woman and her Canadian female friend recently reported food poisoning symptoms and purchased medicines at pharmacies while traveling in the southwestern city of Cambodia. However, they were both found dead in the hotel room on Thursday (January 14).

Hotel staff found 22-year-old Natalie Jade Seymour and 27-year-old Canadian friend Abigail Amisola were found dead in their beds. Seymour's mother revealed that she was communicating with her daughter on Whatsapp on the night of Wednesday (13 September). Seymour complained that she did not feel well and that she was going to look for medicine. However, her mother received a phone call from the local police at 5 am the next day to inform her with news of Seymour's death.

A staff member of the hotel said that on the night before their death, they had seen the two and asked if they would eat in the restaurant but the two would not. Instead they drank a lot of water whilst in their room. Staff advised them to see a doctor, but they chose to sleep and the following day they were found dead. The hotel said that the police are investigating the incident, and that there was no doubt that they had died.
