We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Canadian Travel Partners' in Cambodia Suspected of Food Poisoning Died After Medication
A British woman and her Canadian female friend recently reported food poisoning symptoms and purchased medicines at pharmacies while traveling in the southwestern city of Cambodia. However, they were both found dead in the hotel room on Thursday (January 14).

Hotel staff found 22-year-old Natalie Jade Seymour and 27-year-old Canadian friend Abigail Amisola were found dead in their beds. Seymour's mother revealed that she was communicating with her daughter on Whatsapp on the night of Wednesday (13 September). Seymour complained that she did not feel well and that she was going to look for medicine. However, her mother received a phone call from the local police at 5 am the next day to inform her with news of Seymour's death.

A staff member of the hotel said that on the night before their death, they had seen the two and asked if they would eat in the restaurant but the two would not. Instead they drank a lot of water whilst in their room. Staff advised them to see a doctor, but they chose to sleep and the following day they were found dead. The hotel said that the police are investigating the incident, and that there was no doubt that they had died.

The British Consulate responded that it is assisting the family member of the British woman who died in Cambodia and has contacted the Cambodian authorities to investigate the cause of her death.A British woman and her Canadian female friend recently reported food poisoning symptoms and purchased medicines at pharmacies while traveling in the southwestern city of Cambodia. why on so many threads on this forum are their mor equestions than answers and seldom follow up reports?
Because we're keyboard warriors who don't know anything and just speculate about stuff and then argue with each other about our speculations?
Apart from their unfortunate deaths the above statements are the only things on this thread that are not speculation

Abbey Amisola remembered by her friends...

'She was just an amazing person': Winnipegger who died in Cambodia remembered as kind, compassionate
16 November 2017
A young substitute teacher from Winnipeg who died while travelling in Cambodia is being remembered by a friend for her big heart and generous spirit. Abbey Amisola, 27, was found dead at a hostel in Kampot, in southern Cambodia, on Tuesday morning, her family has confirmed.

"She was just an amazing person," said Dustin Brooks, who had been a friend since the pair went through high school and university together.
"She taught me a lot about empathy and compassion and helping others, and I taught her a lot about standing up for herself and being confident, and we made a really good pair."

Brooks and Amisola were part of a tight-knit group of eight longtime friends, he said. All eight have the same tattoo they got when they were 18 — four diamonds, denoting the four men and four women in the group.
"We thought eight was a bit excessive," Brooks said with a laugh."We thought it was cheesy, but now it kind of holds true that diamonds are forever," he added.
In the days since Amisola's death, Brooks said he's spent a lot of time with those friends, who he described as family. "We've all been friends for a really long time," he said. "Now it's just — it's never going to be the same, without her."

Brooks said he heard from Amisola on Nov. 6 that she was feeling sick. He's travelled with her several times, he added, and it wasn't unusual for her to feel ill on those occasions.
He said Amisola was a safe and responsible traveller."She's such a safe person whenever we've travelled," he said. "She's always the nervous Nelly, and always keeps me and my other friends in line and steers us away from bad decisions."...

do bad people ever die or are cut down in the spring of their lives?
Seems every young person that has died in Cambodia, Thailand---- anywhere, was loved, admired and a "top Bloke"

When a bad person dies in Thailand or Cambodia or wherever, you don't say that they were bad. You say that he or she was 'no angel'. If the person was a complete psycho, you say that they had their demons.

There are several problems with the food poisoning angle.

Yes food poisoning can kill you but generally that effects elderly or young children/people with compromised immune systems far quicker. For healthy adults dying from food poisoning that quickly it would have to have been incredibly extreme and would also depend on the type of food poisoning. Generally you die mostly from organ failure more specifically kidney failure. Symptoms include abdominal pain, vomiting, and severe diarrhea and with all as stated kidney failure may occur even if you have extreme food poisoning and don't die from organ failure you still can have severe organ damage. For them both to have died from food poisoning, that rapidly and at the same general time frame without one or the other being able to call for help, well it smells very very fishy to me. the simple truth is most of us, at one time or another, has had food poisoning and we have never even considered it. The other problem is why were they the ONLY 2 people there effected by "food poisoning".

The general guideline for various food poisoning can be seen here https://www.poison.org/articles/2013-apr/food-poisoning

I wish i could see the actual pictures of them as they were doa's even better if it was taken right at the scene near the actual time of death then I could possibly come to a better conclusion, having in the past worked at a major hospital and in B5, having dealt with doa's of various causes, palliative care transfers and the like without having to make 20 relative posts in 7 days yada yada yada. As you know or may not know dif causes of death have distinctive signs.

Not for any freak thing more for trying to figure out what actually happened to them. I tried finding them on the net but that ended in fail. May they RIP.
