- Ponhea Krek district police in Tbong Khmom province are hunting a third suspect after two perpetrators were arrested and imprisoned on Tuesday over the torture and murder of a 14-year-old girl.
District police chief Orm Monyvann said yesterday that he knew who the third suspect was and would have the court issue an arrest warrant for him.

Mr Monyvann said the suspects and victim lived in the same village and knew each other.

According to a police report, the victim walked her cows to a field far from her house on November 8. A few hours later, her family noticed she had not yet returned.
The family went to look for her and found her body in the field. “Police officials went to check her body and concluded the victim was gang raped and killed,” the police report concluded.

Two suspects, Kouy Kenak, 27 and Heng Phors, 17, were arrested on November 14. The provincial judge has charged them with murder and torture.
