I'm Back [ I think ]
After contracting a highly contagious and disabilitating disease called ''psycho Negative Thinking '' [ a self diagnosis ] which I believe I have caught while here in Cambodia, and probably off some CEO member, I decided a 6 month self imposed ban on posting would do the trick in self medication to cure me from this horrible disease. Despite only completing a few months of this treatment, I can clearly see that it just ain't going to work. Every day, from early morning to late at night I have these continuing thoughts running through the back of my mind that the country is fucked.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

I don't know what you're talking about. This country is on a huge rebound. Infrastructures projects are in the works, many (not all) people are employed, and babies are sprouting up everywhere.
The very real problems of overgrowth are some real problems here, yes. Known systemic problems, yes .
Accept the chaos, and live with the dust, smoke, and traffic jams.
Angkor is rebuilding, if from a complete civil war disaster.
However, occasionally I do feel your exasperation if I cannot commiserate. Some places, sadly, are still eating dirt.
But at least now, some are having a good life, whereas before *everyone* was eating dirt hard.
But really, they are a hardy resilient people, and know how to be happy.
Hope you feel better. A balanced point of view searching for the good here, and avoiding possibly false ideas of doom could help your mood.

Melvin Udall: Never, never, interrupt me, okay?
Not if there's a fire, not even if you hear the sound of a thud from my home and one week later there's a smell coming from there that can only be a decaying human body and you have to hold a hanky to your face because the stench is so thick that you think you're going to faint.
Even then, don't come knocking...Not for ANY reason.
