Left something in taxi

Post by AnnaEphemeral »

Hello everyone,
I left a journal in the back pocket of the passenger seat of a taxi yesterday from Poipet to Siem Reap. It was all unofficial and off the books from a place using an outdated company sign. Is there any hope of getting it back?
Anyone in poipet who could help me get in contact with the guy who sold us the tickets, who could then get in contact with the taxi driver?

It has no value to anyone but me, but I don't want it to become kindling.

Cheers

As Poipet, or at least the border, is pretty chaotic, I think your best chance would be to go back there and try to search for the ticket seller and the taxi driver. There are some pretty good value accommodation options there, and you'd get to see a town that most travellers only travel through. Once you get off the highway, the town offers some classic Cambodian province city life. Not many expats in Poipet, although I know of a few english teachers there.

Hello! Spent some time there too and yes, chaotic. I had a friend drop their passport in an unofficial taxi... Traced the seller but never did get the document back. Hope your luck is better!
