Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Tesco Christmas advert

Post by AndyKK »

Tesco Christmas advert attacked for featuring Muslim family

Just days after its release, Tesco’s Christmas advert has come under fire for featuring a Muslim family.
In the supermarket’s one-minute long advert, families prepare Christmas dinner and cook a turkey in a variety of ways.
As families meet and greet each other, one scene shows a Muslim family holding Christmas gifts and preparing to celebrate the festive holiday.

A non-story. Muslims believe Jesus was God's prophet too, just not The Prophet (PBUH). It's not like Muslims sit around scowling on Christmas Day. And for many people of all faiths Christmas isn't really about any religion anymore, but the cheesy cultural traditions that somehow got attached to it. A Christmas tree and wrapped presents are about as Christian as a menorah or a dreidel.

Merry Christmas, you fun-loving, multi-culture embracing Muslims! And welcome to Tescos.

Agreed - Christmas now equals happy holiday feels to non Christians, including many of other faiths. Non-story.

Now what grinds MY gears is Easter products hitting the shelves on December 28.
