I'm not afraid of most insects/arthropods etc. But, I HATE those fuckin' giant centipedes! (they hunt mice and small birds)
You could be next.

True, if you spot them on time. Have seen quite a lot of guys meeting one in the dark while going to donate some water to a tree, coming back in extreme pain. Vinegar helps, but usually not around on the spot.
These have two nasty long teeth under the head, long enough to penetrate human skin and make you feel seriously bad for while. I've also experienced these do not respond well to poison, the size 44 flip flop is indeed more effective. Also watch out for their offspring. Nasty small buggers, but already equipped with relatively large teeth.

That's a pretty small centipede
I've seen them up to about 12 inches in length in Phuket. Can move damn fast as well - had to leap onto a table when one ran across the floor...

Yep that's why local villagers who sleep on the floor roll up their bedding in the morning and check the mattress and sheets or blankets before retiring

"Unless they decide to sleep on railway tracks."
Then they are endangered by a bigger, but slower creepy crawly.
