Kep train victim found dead on the tracks
3 November 2017
Kep province - The body of a 49 year old farmer was found on the morning of November 3, 2017, on the railway track in the village of Chamkar Chek Village, Pong Teuk Commune, Damnak Angkong District, Kep Province.
Relatives said the man had a habit on sleeping on the tracks when he was drunk, but he would usually wake up, or the neighbors would bring him home.
The victim was found dead this morning, but it is believed that he was struck by a train the previous evening while sleeping, around 11pm on 2 November. RIP

How can that not be funny? Not his death but the statement.

Re: Kep train victim found dead on the tracks
You know, that's what, the fourth victim on here who "enjoyed sleeping on the train tracks whilst drunk". What makes them so appealing?

the only thing i can think is that the tracks will hold their heat at night.cptrelentless wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2017 10:11 pm You know, that's what, the fourth victim on here who "enjoyed sleeping on the train tracks whilst drunk". What makes them so appealing?

Re: Kep train victim found dead on the tracks
We used to play on train tracks when we were kids, doing all sorts of crazy shit, and there were express trains pulling through regularly at 70 KPHcptrelentless wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2017 10:11 pm You know, that's what, the fourth victim on here who "enjoyed sleeping on the train tracks whilst drunk". I thought the same, but then came to these conclusions:
1. There aren't too many trains around in Cambodia, and they aren't fast. There were none at all for years, so a certain complacency can develop.
2. There's a good chance that the tracks are the only flat stable ground around, and the surrounding area is forest, paddy or flooded land or swamp.
3. There's a good chance that those nearby swamps etc are covered in vegetation that harbors venomous snakes, and more importantly insects such as the red tree ant.
So that's my take. Cambodia has a great climate, you could sleep out almost any time or place and not die of hypothermia but the other factors like bugs are going to fuck you up.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
