Tourist visa holders denied entry to Thailand, left stranded

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Yeah, if someone can get by with overstaying for long enough the 20,000 baht maximum makes it worth it.

except new overstay laws
get caught overstaying one day, go to Jail, pay fine, be deported an not allowed back into Thailand for 5 years
have more than 90 days overstay, pay fine an not be allowed back into Thailand for 1 years
In the case that alien surrenders themselves:
Overstay more than 90 days > Forbidden from re-entering the kingdom for 1 year.
Overstay more than 1 year > Forbidden from re-entering the kingdom for 3 years.
Overstay more than 3 years > Forbidden from re-entering the kingdom for 5 years.
Overstay more than 5 years > Forbidden from re-entering the kingdom for 10 years.
Overstay more than 10 years > Forbidden from re-entering the kingdom for life.

In the case that the alien is being apprehended:
Overstay for less than 1 year > Forbidden from re-entering the kingdom for 5 years.
Overstay for more than 1 year > Forbidden from re-entering the kingdom for 10 years
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Suvarnabhumi Airport had close to 51 million passengers in 2013. Take away 10 million for national flights (a lot of them already had been outsourced to Don Muang in 2013), take the half (inbound and outbound) and you still have about 20 million visitors.
Then you still have international flights to Phuket and visitors crossing land borders.
Do the math ;)

Suvarnabhumi Airport had close to 51 million passengers in 2013.
This could be a valid point, depending on the source of this info.

TAT again? Or, according to whom?

Well, you're making this too easy.

Firstly, the figure of 51 million is for TOTAL passengers. INTERNATIONAL is listed as just 42.4 million.

Secondly, the source of this info is Airports of THAILAND rather than an independent international organisation that might be a bit more trustworthy.
