13 more young foreigners detained by Sihanoukville police

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Lotsa different types. Fake investments, with "real" websites to back them up or the "let me show your wife our online pornographic exchange" type.

Not if there's a fire, not even if you hear the sound of a thud from my home and one week later there's a smell coming from there that can only be a decaying human body and you have to hold a hanky to your face because the stench is so thick that you think you're going to faint.

Even then, don't come knocking...Not for ANY reason.

Officers body-searched the VoIP culprits before allowing them to board their charter flight back to China.

for sure a lot of online casino workers are in this.
even if they have legal docs to work here, for a company with a casino license- they are breaking Chinese law.
Chinese LEO solves the jurisdictional problem by revoking their passports.
SV is going to pop with a bang like krakatoa when this really flows through.

didn't anyone notice the giant casinos are empty down there?
because all the business is online, and yes- likely a lot of fraud and laundering going on there.

100% agree, Frank

When, not if, the Chinese authorities come down hard on these scammers, plenty are going to get burnt.

Fair play to the Cambodian authorities for actually getting stuck in and doing their part.

I arrive in SKV on Friday, so if they could get it all sorted before then, that'd be lovely, please!
