Also trains are running every day from 27 October to 6 November (although they don't run in both directions on a few days in there).

The lead on this post is incorrect.
Bon Om Touk 2017 in Cambodia will begin on Thursday, November 2
and ends on Saturday, November 4
No the water levels are great.
Good to see the works on re-surfacing the Riverside and especially the wisdom of the operators to finish off all their bits and halt new work until after the WF.
I walk here nearly everyday and have watched the progress over the last few months. Great job so far.

Just to let those, possible interesed and delighted, know:
The festivals full-moon-day is actually a very significat dhammic day on which the Buddha praised those monks who keeped the rain retreat for a fourth month and delivered the "Discourse on mindfulness on Breathing". So the Day is known (normally...) as Ānāpānasati-Day and falls on Nov. the 3rd this year. It maks also the end of Kathina, the time monks are allowed to receive robes.
It's maybe also worthy that the fatal lack of mindfulness has cost hundreds of people their life on a bridge less years ago. A Sadhu for the courage of the leaders having reminded it the following year after that occation very proper.
At least a "humorously" tiny story of the origin of the waterfestival in the neigbor country and it's anecdote in of the relation betwenn a monk and the king.
Best wishes.

Become, be, and stay possible with you breath. It's like the hand of the mother for a child. It's dangerous to let go of the hand. It's good to find such if never had.Another time, Rama IV felt that since Thailand had been laid waste by the Burmese, many ancient Thai customs had disappeared, so new customs should be developed to replace them. So he decided, "Wouldn't it be nice if we had a boat parade at the end of the rains retreat? Every monastery in Bangkok will be responsible for decorating a boat, and we'll have a contest to reward the best-looking boat." So the royal decree went out that every monastery in Bangkok had to decorate a boat for the parade... read: Legends of Somdet Toh
Best wishes.

I may try that, thanks.
Melvin Udall: Never, never, interrupt me, okay?
Not if there's a fire, not even if you hear the sound of a thud from my home and one week later there's a smell coming from there that can only be a decaying human body and you have to hold a hanky to your face because the stench is so thick that you think you're going to faint.
Even then, don't come knocking...Not for ANY reason.

What's on in Phnom Penh during the festival ? Fancy some live concerts Khmer-style ?
All three days, on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of November, in Sokha Eastern Boeung Ek and with special live broadcast from Reammeang Hang Meas TV from 8:00 pm - the BOOSTRONG WATER FESTIVAL CONCERT.
The most funniest, cheerleader, hilarious, thrilled with the top four of the best-selling productions.
- Accept the New Taste of Music of the BOO TV tonic with the singer:
- Preap Sovath
- Ok Sokunthea
- Chon Sovan Reach
- Pich Sophea
-Noka Ba Rithy
- Sokun Nisa
- And many more singers, especially with the first Thai poet, The Voice Kids Cambodia, season 1.
