That is why I fired my security guard, I figured he posed more danger than any robbers.

- Mr Sopheak said at about 4.30am on Sunday, Kim Sophonwathana, 38, was found seriously injured, unconscious in a pool of blood on her apartment bed by her eight-year-old daughter.
The daughter then called her father, who had been at work since 3am, Mr Sopheak said.
“According to our investigation, the suspects have beaten and nearly killed the victim in order to steal her property,” said Mr Sopheak.
“After the victim lost consciousness, they probably thought that she was already died, so they collected her money and jewellery and fled.”
Mr Sopheak said that the six were arrested by police, who had found their bloodied security guard uniforms and boots inside the victim’s house...

Re: Security guards arrested for murder of sleeping woman; Siem Reap.
Security guards are some of the worst paid people around. They are generally poor guys from remote provinces with aspirations of joining the real security forces, or penniless retired soldiers. They are stuck out in remote locations with little to amuse them, and the $100 or so they get paid a month barely keeps them afloat. It's regrettable but not really surprising that they think up schemes like this.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Indeed, with a plan like this, what could go wrong ?John Bingham wrote: Security guards are some of the worst paid people around. Poor and uneducated, sometimes desperate, often drunkards or on drugs, most ordinary security guards couldn't plan their way out of a paper bag. A lot have security jobs as a sort of disability pension for retired army and police, and their disability is not always physical.Mr Sopheak said that the six were arrested by police, who had found their bloodied security guard uniforms and boots inside the victim’s house...
