I removed the ads.
IIRC, ODs ban came shortly after he suggested people use adblockers to remove his avatar. KiR said he didn't want to encourage people to block ads and things escalated.

Scarier than malaria.

That's bizarre. Compared to the wrecking ball KiR took to his own business over the years, I would have thought ad blockers were trivial in comparison. I'm surprised some businesses are still allowing themselves to be associated with 440.ali baba wrote: KiR said he didn't want to encourage people to block ads and things escalated.

Perhaps the admin could write an article about the creation of the forum.
I'm sure it would make interesting reading.

Not a bad idea - an historical sticky (behave yourselves) would be a great reference in later years. I know when posters ask in another forum how it came to be, the answer is typically, "What, can't you search?" which doesn't motivate anyone to hang around.Spongebob wrote:Perhaps the admin could write an article about the creation of the forum.

Actually, I don't think it would be a good idea.
it would be a permanent snide remark at people on 440, and you cannot expect people to just ignore that.
Both forums have good points, and the forum is not one person or a few posters people don't like, let's just all move on.
Life is too short.

Would it be impossible to write it without casting aspersions at 440? Surely, with OD's writing talent, and theGeneral's diplomacy skills (seriously) it would be possible, and of some value?
