Changes in ER (retirement) visa ? Proof of retirement required ?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Maybe we should change the thread title to "How to get an EG visa"?

PSD-Kiwi wrote: Tue Oct 03, 2017 2:11 pm No supporting documentation required for EG. After 12 mth EG EOS you need to apply for the EOS relevant to your situation ie. EB,ER... or leave the country. Will you be able to get another EG EOS? The sub-decree is not clear on this, as with everything else.
I saw a link to a news story at it implies that you can only get a max six month EG.
As per the latest visa sub-decree, the EG EOS is available for 1,3,6,12 mth extension of stays.
I've also only seen EG referenced with 1, 3, and 6 month extension options. A 12 month extension would do nicely.

Would you be so kind as to link to or attach this latest visa sub-decree so that I may bandy it about, under the agents nose whilst attempting to cajole her into procuring such EOS on my behalf?

^^ Here's a link to the "Sub-decree on visa types". This does not include any recent changes. https://lookaside.fbsbx.com/file/Sub-de ... fJyy2q1Jmg

If you want to bandy it about under the agent's nose, you might be better off trying to find a copy in Khmer.

"Done in Phnom Penh, 20 June 2016"

So the EG visa is a one time only and cannot be extended, unlike the EB and ER, which can be extended for 12 months (EB) 24 months (ER)s then three time thereafter for 12 months at which the old gt must leave the country, and I assume come back!

It says "EG Visa Type can be extended for one (1) month, three (3) months, six (6) months, or twelve (12) months for one time only". Which implies you can go up to two years on one. But I'm not convinced that is what is really meant.

From the pdf linked above:

"EG visa type can be extended for one (1) month, three (3) months, six (6) months, or twelve (12) months for one time only"

Keep in mind, that document is probably out of date. However, it is the most recent one that has been released and translated into English.
