Florida - 2&1/2 years prison for sex on the beach
Re: Florida - 2&1/2 years prison for sex on the beach
How much of Florida have you really experienced? Driving the interstate does not count.Ever been to the Keys? Everglades? Ever been up around Tarpon Springs, Crystal River, Little Havana,Wikiwatchee, St. Augustine, Dry Tortugas, The Marquesas? Ever sailed Florida Bay? Ever driven old hwy 27?Therapist wrote:FLORIDA: the flaccid penis of America.
If you gents visit, beware the police. Just pass their attitude test and don't have cash on you in the states with civil forfeiture enforcement; they'll even take your rings. Unfortunately, prison is for profit in America ($72 bil). Young minorities get sent away 25yrs to life for a little bit of marijuana, while bankers destroy aggregate mass foreclosures and homelessness while getting bonuses. More veterans have killed themselves than have died fighting in the war on terror. But that's the big wigs.
Lots of good folks too. Ordinary folk.
Hanno, birding in Oregon, Colorado, Montana, etc. I'll bet the folks would really take to you and lend a welcome hand with your birding as there are many naturalists out there. Mormons have weird beliefs but are some of nicest people out there in Utah too.
Florida really does suck though. But remember the Government of America is not its people, although ironically it claims to represent the people.
Don't think so.

You’re right Luigi. Driving the interstate does not count and I am sure all those places you mentioned are actually beautiful places.
You can’t indict an entire state by one man’s experience, but I only have my experiences and the anecdotes of some friends who were dying to leave Tallahassee.
Unfortunately, I don’t dislike the physical state so much as the unsavory people that I met in Miami Dade area. But I like you Luigi and it you have any positive things to relate to me, I will take your word for it.
With that said, I did come across this humorous piece from Florida’s Sun Sentinel on June 30, 2015 by Daniel Vasquez. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/opinion/tod ... story.html
Florida worst of 50 states in all things: Could be worse
By Daniel Vasquez
Florida is the worst state in the union…
…But calling names, repeatedly, does damage to a state's ego. We're starting to believe the stereotypes. It's ruining our sex on the beach. Note: We have both, the drink and the act.
Back when we were the Space Capital of the world or when we had a football team that played perfect seasons (just once) or people realized we have actual hurricanes now and then, Florida was the place to be. Even a few years ago we would have scoffed at these official state rankings.
But times have been tough.
We've ruined more than our share of national elections.
A Florida man was recently arrested for beating employees with a live lizard. Another man was arrested for trying to trade a live alligator a for a six-pack of beer. And we have to have an actual law that tells people not to ride the manatees.
The Dolphins (the team) are so bad, they were fired from their own reality show.
Plus, Donald Trump is a frequent Florida visitor. So, that happens.
OK, Florida sucks. In some ways. Who are we kidding? A lot of them.
But read our lips: We are absolutely NOT the worst state in America. Try 48th, maybe even 47th. Have you been to Ohio (anybody NOT named LeBron)?
Here's a few reasons why Florida is still rad:
We got rid of the Confederate flag (mostly) a long time ago, before it was trendy.
We've got Walt Disney World.
And our alligators are so fast they can actually outrun a human.
Wait, forget that last one.

Again, I trust you’ve had better experiences and anything you tell me about Florida I will trust. I was just not as fortunate as you in my experiences, but again I was only a visitor, never an inhabitant. Dropped in last back in 2001 because three former students were competing in a national sporting competition. Flew back out of the good ole USofA the day after the competition.

LOL @ the switch to bar girl English when replying to a Khmer!Therapist wrote:Samouth,
If there is no child present it is still illegal so they can charge. I cannot say for sure if they will prosecute but I will try to explain this way.
The assistant district attorney will be the boss in this case. He or she will ask the top boss (District Attorney) if this should be prosecuted. Together they will decide how many cases they have, how serious the crime, the evidence they have and how much it helps their careers.
Samouth because there is the boy under 18 years old (minor), this is much more serious crime. Same in Cambodia, right?
Samouth, in Florida the Penal Code, Title 9 covers Offenses Against Public Order and Decency. Chapter 43 covers Public Indecency laws sex or prostitution in public. Since, a minor (-18yr) is present they can find and charge them with more state statutes and laws.
So Samouth, it is still illegal but since it is up to the assistant-DA and his boss the DA, we cannot be sure 100%. Many crazy things happen in Florida and this will be very small case if not have boy there. Many agencies have license to make sex movie in Florida.
*No child, not a serious case for Florida but still illegal. 65% chance cut a deal, maybe fine or jail but no prison.
*Have child present, it is important case involving a minor so they must try to convict. 99.9% prosecute.
I hope this help a little Samouth. Also every state in USA have different laws.

Thanks for this explanation. i remembered i read somewhere what GM wrote. He wrote that almost expats arrested in Cambodia, maybe at least had been arrested once or twice in Florida. So what does this really mean? Because Florida has strict law than other states or what ?Therapist wrote:Samouth,

Re: Florida - 2&1/2 years prison for sex on the beach
Apologies if my posts offended anyone. I actually do it out of respect, habit, and personal sensitivity.
When someone would engage me in high diction when I was learning a foreign language, I had a hard time. Japanese was so bad that I gave up years ago. The subtle nuances in that language were too complicated. Things got better when in my next country, I consciously asked her hosts to break down their language into the most simplistic forms of speech.
Because Samouth was a university student, I didn’t know how to gauge the diction of my posts.
If you are offended Samouth please let me know. I think you know that I meant no disrespect.
Apologies.

I think some of the other Americans on this board can better answer this pertinent question. Or even the non-Americans too.
What do you think gentlemen? Explain Florida in your own words....

I would guess I owe the Florida penal system around 200 yrs. if only having sex on the beach was the issue. I was a little more private most of the time. Well there was that one on Clearwater beach where the life guard threw a coitus interupptis at us via bullhorn. Technically we were in the water & not on the beach.

Since this thread has been bumped, and Florida seems to be some amusement -Therapist wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2015 4:36 pm SAMOUTH wrote:

I liken Florida to a giant funnel that stretches from the Midwest to the Northeast, every bullshitter, deadbeat and scammers flushes down this way(unfortunately I'm at the bottom of this funnel), a lot of people are running from something - child support, drugs, etc. Traveling the country over the years I've found that a lot of people I have met have done their time in FL at one point or another.
Can be a great place if your into the beach/ocean like diving, boating or fishing. Not a good place to be down and out(no place is but there are easier places than FL).
