Bitcoin (and other cryptos) have gone through all of this hoopla before. No surprise it's happening again. Each time, if you look back, it tends to surge just after once China (or whoever) figures out the sky isn't actually falling and that they can now buy in way cheaper because of the drop.

Though, the question is... will they rebuy into BTC or move to one of the smaller currencies with a higher potential margin. I'm hoping for the latter, as I spread about $50 across a couple of the more popular smaller coins. If I loose it, whatevs. If it bitcoins and jumps to thousands, I just paid for my next vacation.

Most of them are based on ad revenue. They pay, but they also have stuff in place to stop abuse... so it's hard to game it. SteemIt at least isn't really a fountain, but a project intended to build a social media platform based on the blockchain technology. It's still growing/work in process... but personally I really enjoy it. I've made about $200 off of it so far from posts, about $30 of which I have pulled out in cash just to prove I could. Though because of transaction fees it ended up being about $14 after I got it. Still more than Facebook/Tritter/Reddit have ever paid me for posting.

[I have one personal friend on there who referred me. He's been on it for about 2 years. Makes enough from it to pay his mortgage.]

Interesting, cheers. Why such high costs to pull it out in USD? Do they make you pay the Steem you earn into their own wallet? And put the charges there? Are there any exchanges dealing in Steem yet?

So just like traditional currencies then. The internet 2.0 aspect of it all is the blockchain. All the new ICOs seem in part at least to be a bit insecure. If you did all that research, is there one coin which stood- out in your mind as being more secure and un-hackable than any of the others?
