Wind power now nearly half the cost of nuclear UK says

Who'd have thought a bunch of hippies in the Nederlands in the 80's experimenting in squatted buildings in Javakade, Amsterdam, would have achieved so much for the world.

It sounds great and I believe it is the way to go. However the UK have invested heavily in nuclear power and the incidental side-production of weapons-grade plutonium. They are not going to stop that anytime soon, no matter what the electorate wants. How is the Trident Program going? :?
Silence, exile, and cunning.

We will always need nuclear power plants no matter how "cheap" wind energy is. They don't produce power when it is not windy or too windy.
The tax payer is funding these bargain turbines.

The Hinkley plant is fixed at around 100mwh for 35 years and most of the wind farms (The most in the world) were fixed at average 117mwh, all rising with inflation.

"Every single one of the 27 million households in Britain has already had to fork out to wind farmers for not producing any electricity and that may be just the tip of the iceberg says GMB from the TUC in Brighton."
