Pho Laos

Post by Cambo Dear »

With two branches, one flanking the Chinese Embassy and one on Koh Pich, Pho Laos is a GREAT place for breakfast or dinner (the one next to the Chinese Embassy is open for breakfast and the one on Koh Pich is open for dinner). Despite the name, there is little (if anything) to distinguish the flavour of the broth from the traditional Vietnamese Pho. I would hazard a guess Laos was used to distance the food from the much loathed eastern neighbour.

Although a little more expensive than most mom-and-pop Pho joints, the servings here are generous and the choice of accompanying herbs and proteins is vast (ribs, braised beef, raw beef, etc). Whenever we are in Phnom Penh, this is where my wife eats wants to eat breakfast. Well worth checking out - clean, well prepared, busy with locals and absolutely delicious!
