Firefighters were urged by Interior Minister Sar Kheng on Thursday to act in the interest of victims and not demand bribes before putting out blazes.

Spotted these trucks all parked up Diamond couple weeks back with the top brass looking over them.
Could these trucks also be used for erm 'crowd control' ?

The water cannons could be used for crowd control, but not for very long without a water supply. Having driven/engineered on fire trucks with 2000gal of water I know how fast it goes and its fast. In Sihanoukville I have never seen them use the water cannons even when it would have put a fire out in a matter of a couple minutes. (were they waiting for the bribe before shooting water?)

China donates $200,000 in fire equipment
31 July 2017
A Chinese company has donated fire equipment to the Interior Ministry worth about $200,000, an official said yesterday.
Neth Vantha, a fire department chief, said that Enterprise Limited of China is set to donate the equipment, including two fire trucks.

The other fire safety equipment includes 200 firefighting suits, 200 firefighting helmets, 200 belts and 10 fire hoses.

Mr Vantha added that currently, there are 250 fire trucks throughout the country, including 40 trucks in Phnom Penh, while there are about 1,000 firefighters employed by the state.
