Empty ambulance drives into tuktuk, 3 dead, 3 injured.

- Three people were killed, including a four-year-old boy, and three others were injured yesterday when a speeding ambulance crashed into their tuk-tuk on National Road 5 in Kandal province.
Ponhea Lueu district police captain Om Sophat said the accident occurred at about 5.15am in Kampong Loung commune.

“Three people died instantly at the scene, while the other three were seriously injured in the traffic accident when an ambulance slammed into the back of the tuk-tuk,” Cap Sophat said, adding that the three injured passengers were sent to a hospital in Phnom Penh for treatment.

Cap Sophat said the ambulance was not carrying a patient and that the driver of the ambulance fled the scene, abandoning the ambulance nearby.
“The driver did not stop and continued on the national road to abandon the ambulance on a plot of land about two kilometres away from the scene before fleeing,” Cap Sophat said...

I always suspect that most of the ambulances driving along like crazy, horns and lights and all, are on the way to the next KTV or massage parlor.
