Sure, it states it's a 1979 law which may not have been used much, but the figures have clearly been adjusted for inflation and reflect what others have reported - as in you need to show 20,000 baht if you look like a bum or someone abusing the visa system.
Here's the rough jist of it:

Hippies aren't dead, they just smell funny.
I kinda miss the smell of wet afghan and patchouli.

lots of changes since then
The 20,000 baht has been in the books much longer than that but NEVER been enforced
i was never a hippie, ( was at golden gate park in the summer of love 1967-- has it really been 50 years!!!) but was called a freak
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Yeah, a 2009 link about a 1979 law which is still enforceable.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2017 10:42 pm

The OP's picture clearly shows that stick-it notes or paper
have been put on the old notice showing updated prices.
One thing that we might have overlooked about
this 1979 law is that it was passed just a month
after the Vietnamese took Phnom Penh.
A huge number of Cambodian refugees
arrived at the Thai border around then.
So it's got little to do with hippies
and a lot to do with economics.
