Re: Queue jumper at Lucky on Sihanouk
Yep. I don't mind at all if it's a situation like that... though I do get a bit confrontational if it's a pretty equal amount of items involved. And I prefer they ask or be invited... though I won't be a prick about it generally, instead I'll comment on it lightly with a smile.General Mackevili wrote:^ Agreed. Happens all the time in the States.
I've even had that happen here at Lucky with an Asian lady. Good on her.

Once I went to the 10 items or less line and there was a person with 14 items.
True story.

In some parts of America that's considered grounds for justifiable homicide.ali baba wrote:Once I went to the 10 items or less line and there was a person with 14 items.

Re: Queue jumper at Lucky on Sihanouk
I helpfully informed the gentleman is question and suggested he remove 4 of his items. He agonised about which items he could do without and eventually placed 4 of them behind mine. He payed for his first 10 items then returned to the back of the queue to pay for the other 4. Actually some people turned up whilst his first 10 items were being scanned but they didn't mind having to wait for him to fiddle with his change during two consecutive transactions as he was "an outstandingly pedantic person". At this point I suggested that we fix the sign above the till as it read 10 items or less instead of 10 items or fewer. Everyone was happy to wait whilst we fetched the managers, a ladder and a felt tip pen.General Mackevili wrote:What ever did you do?ali baba wrote:Once I went to the 10 items or less line and there was a person with 14 items.

To this day there is a photo of me by the entrance with the words Customer of the Year written beneath.
