10 year 'pro' contract for 13yo Cambodian football prodigy
Tiger sign 13-year-old prodigy
1 August 2017
Cambodian Metfone C-League club Cambodian Tiger have announced the signing of 13-year-old Pheap Chan David.
The youngster is the first to make the move from Next Step FC, a Siem Reap-based football coaching school, after signing a three-year deal.
The deal gives Cambodian Tiger access to the players the school is producing.
Next Step head coach Charlie Pomroy said: “It’s a great day and we’re delighted to have this agreement in place for the next three years.
“This gives us a very clear pathway for our players and we’re happy to be working with a club that shares our values for developing Khmer footballers,” the Englishman said yesterday.
“David has everything. He has pace, power, creativity and changes direction in the blink of an eye. Off the field he is grounded and knows this is only the beginning for him.
“He has the potential to be a great player,” he added.
David signed a 10-year professional contract with the club and will receive tuition in English and will continue at Next Step until he is ready to train with the first team in three years’ time...

That's pretty cool. I remember reading about this school a while back.
