British tourist falls 80m down Koh Samui waterfall and lives

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

British tourist falls 80m down Koh Samui waterfall and lives

Post by Anchor Moy »

11 July 2017
A young British holidaymaker is recovering in a Bangkok hospital after falling 80 meters when he slipped and fell down Na Muang Waterfall in Ko Samui.

Luke Scott, 20, from Wigton in Cumbria, fractured his skull, broke an ankle, his jaw, cheekbone, eye socket and several ribs as well as losing five teeth after hitting several rocks in the fall.

The young Brit was less than a week into a 16-day holiday with five friends when they took a tour on Saturday when Luke slipped on a wet rock high up the waterfall. His friends said he hit rocks three times during the fall.

He was initially treated at a local hospital before being transferred to a Bangkok hospital where he now awaits clearance from doctors to fly home with a friend.

What caused the fall, was he handstanding by any chance. Just a thought.

Na Muang Waterfalls, Koh Samui (TH)....most tourists don’t take the way up to the top of the falls.

Although, it might be hard to see it, but there’s also a [handstand] on that upper picture Took some effort to climb up there…
