The Great American Heroin Epidemic

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

I came across this article today and it made my blood boil, some people should never be allowed to breed. I hope these fuckers get some swift jailhouse justice.... :voilent1: :fighting: :head shot:

US parents 'injected children with feel-good heroin'

A couple injected their three young children with heroin, telling them it was "feel-good medicine" to help them sleep, police in the US said.

Ashlee Hutt, 24, and Leroy McIver, 25, allegedly drugged their son, six, and daughters, four and two, in their filthy Washington home filled with rat droppings and used needles.

Child Protective Services (CPS) launched an investigation in November last year after someone in the house claimed they saw the children with the drug, Kiro7 reported.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the six-year-old told investigators "his mum and dad give him and his sisters the 'feel-good medicine'" which "he described as a white powder which was mixed with water". He said his parents "used a needle to inject the 'feel-good medicine' into him and his sisters."

30 June 2017
(CNN)A new study finds that the number of Americans being diagnosed with opioid addiction continues to skyrocket, but still very few receive any treatment. This is in line with the rising trend documented in previous reports.

An analysis from Blue Cross Blue Shield of its members found that from 2010 to 2016, the number of people diagnosed with an addiction to opioids -- including both legal prescription drugs like oxycodone and hydrocodone, as well as illicit drugs -- climbed 493%. In 2010, there were just 1.4 incidences of opioid use disorder among every 1000 members. By 2016, that rate had climbed to 8.3 incidences for every 1000 members. Yet, at the same time, there was only a 65% increase in the number of people getting medication-assisted treatment to manage their addiction.

Addiction climbs, but few get treatment.
While the rates of opioid addiction treatment have increased more than 6 fold since 1999, few individuals struggling with addiction actually receive treatment. In fact, a 2016 Surgeon General's Report found that only one in 10 people receive any specialized treatment to manage their addiction.
At the same time 40% of those who are addicted do not seek treatment. Of the 20 million Americans that had a substance abuse addiction in 2015, about 10% of them were addicted to opioids.

I believe most heroin in Cambodia comes from the Myanmar/Yunnan region. Heroin in Europe and the US is more likely to come from Afghanistan, and increasingly from Mexico and South America.
Yeah pretty much, many states including Florida had the PAIN MANAGEMENT CLINICS, you should of seen the line of people outside before it opened in the mornings, like a scene out of Dawn of the Dead(the original of course.)

On the flipside Grandma was probably hooked on meth back in the day.

1. create lawless zone by means of war
2. encourage civilians in war zone to plant opium
3. engage in traffic at home and abroad.
4. use revenue to engage in activities with no lawful oversight of money.
5. target undesirable elements of the population with soft kill genocide and illegal felon status for using.
6. create private for profit prison system paid by taxpayer.
7. disenfranchise felons.

It's not just a US problem:

Dozens of drug deaths in the UK this year are being linked to the opiates fentanyl and carfentanyl, which are being added to heroin even though they are many times stronger.
The National Crime Agency says dealers are mixing the class A drugs with heroin, and the substances have been found in the bodies of up to 46 people who died this year, although the exact causes of their deaths remained uncertain.

Many toxicologists have only recently started looking for fentanyl and carfentanyl in postmortem examinations, and cases involving the substances have yet to reach coroners’ courts – meaning there has been little public discussion of the impact of the drugs.

Public Health England said heroin users should be “extra careful” when using the drug, urging them to test a small amount first and not to take it alone. In April, the body issued an alert to medical and emergency services to be vigilant following a spate of deaths in the north of England...
