Australian Robert Cameron (Teacher at ICS) Commits Suicide By Jumping Off School's Rooftop in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

I think the dark net thread idea is a good one, as explained in its introductory post by General Macheavelli.
But it would only work if people with access to it, didn't post the offensive information from it on the public thread.
See crook!!!

It is a place where rumour and speculation can be aired without causing further grief to the family in the instance of death. In other cases, again, it is where speculation and rumour can be aired among our community without public knowledge.

You know Rich- like when you used to do deals in commodities that may be a bit sub rosa. You have spoken of it freely many times.
But you did not go blabbing it round in a bar in LA at the time or you might have got fingered.

Having lost a brother to murder in Honduras many years ago, I fully sympathize with relatives of deceased and also see the need to protect them from speculation and rumour that may besmirch the name of the deceased, with no recourse.

Hey look, CEO got a mention in the Australian news. :hattip:
Australian man who was international fugitive in kidnap case plunges to death from Cambodian rooftop
June 27, 20173:12pm

AUSTRALIAN Robert Cameron has plunged to his death from the rooftop of a Cambodian school 18 years after he was the subject of an international manhunt in a kidnap plot.

Cameron, 63, a dual British and Australian national was found dead on the ground at the International Cambodian School (ICS) in Phnom Penh five days ago.

Found at 9.30am by a teacher who went outside to smoke a cigarette, Cameron appeared to have jumped from the building’s sixth floor to his death, Cambodia Expats Online revealed.

Cambodian police in the country’s capital are treating the death as a suicide.

Cameron, who lived in Phnom Penh with his Cambodian wife, appears to have been teaching English in the school at the time of his death.

He becomes the second ICS English teacher expat to have died in the last week, after his American colleague Steve Cramer was found dead from an apparent heart attack.

Cool! Very nice to see some credit from the international media for CEO's news stories when we are their source on events like this that deserve worldwide attention.

Thanks for finding that, AM! :thumb:
