I'm in Cambodia now and looking for Kratom but don't know what it's calle here. Does anyone know what the word for Kratom is in cambodia ?

My wife is familiar with this plant and says it is commonly used by locals. Her pronunciation is slightly different, I. e khteum.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Yes. It is given to mothers after childbirth, supposedly to improve lactation, but she suspects it is to relieve the pain of childbirth.

Sorry to fragment my post but my phone times out before I reach the board. The bark is boiled for the mother. Most preparations are teas. It is also used as an antibiotic. She is going to talk with the jah jah to get more info on preparation.

I had stomach pains, the lady of the house made me a warm cup of tea, and in a very short time the pain had subsided. She acquired the leafy plant on the veg market.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

My pronunciation has just been corrected. The last syllable of the plant "Kh tum" rhymes with
the English word "room". Perhaps that coincides with your phonetics.
