Get it shipped to our post office box if you want. You'd have to go and pick it up, but possibly more secure, unless you're paying one of the more expensive shipping companies.AE86 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2017 8:36 am Hi all,
Has anyone ordered stuff off of eBay and had it sent to Cambodia? Trying to figure how to order something and have it sent here without getting it stolen or having shipping cost a fortune.
Normally I just use my shipping company to deal with customs, shipping, etc from Vietnam but this time I need to order something Vietnam doesn't have. It's light (100 grams) and small (2 x 2 inches) and not that expensive (maybe $25 worth).
Any help appreciated on the matter.

Thank you all, I'll give it a try and see what happens. Seems I shouldn't expect many problems although truthfully I'm not sure if I want to wait the month to find out if it will arrive or not. I do sort of need what I want to order.
Okay, will report back on what happens.

I tried to use them last year in April but after trying place an order he never processed it then stopped replying to emails. Seems as if he was going through supplier troubles at the time.
I've been told by several people he's doing okay now and back in business with a decent shipping agent.

Okay one more question...how does the post office determine customs? Again I usually just have an agent deal with everything, but I'm concered of getting the foreigner treatment of arbitrary high prices.

Our experience is that a package sent to a PO Box will already have been opened before you know it's here, if it looks like it might contain something steal-worthy, or it will be opened when you come to collect it. The "customs fee" is negotiated at the counter, and you need to take ID with you to collect it (as well as the phone number that you were called on to advise the package had arrived - their phone number, not yours), so take someone who looks local with you. Mrs AE86 would probably scare them enough!

Oi, I think I'll just use DHL or Fedex. Last time I used the post, my box was opened and the workers were eating the package contents and it took a lot of restraint for me not to raise a big scene. Wouldn't have bothered me so much if it weren't $500 worth of stuff.StroppyChops wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2017 5:11 pmOur experience is that a package sent to a PO Box will already have been opened before you know it's here, if it looks like it might contain something steal-worthy, or it will be opened when you come to collect it. I don't know, probably from that experience I feel like I can't be arsed to go to sweat it out at the post office and haggle over the customs duties, especially if the package is going to have already been opened. That's one thing I can't have, is someone rumaging through the box because it could easily ruin what I need sent over. The downtime is somewhat aggravating at the moment.

On the flip side, one of our tenants got a package delivered unmolested to the house today, and there's not even a house number on the property. Go figure.AE86 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2017 5:19 pmOi, I think I'll just use DHL or Fedex. The Kingdom of Wonder sometimes. Like how I wonder how a land with 5 or 10 Yamaha dealerships don't stock any pistons, seals, gaskets or bearings for a current Cambodian market bike.
