Re: Introduce Yourself
Why not. Someone has to.
Now if only I could give Karma to myself.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello everyone.
I've been in Cambodia for just over 2 years. Came here especially to start up a language school with a 'different' way of teaching Khmer (which caused a 12 page debate over on K440, lead in part by one of the owners of this site ). Anyway, I speak Khmer fluently now, having learnt it that way!
I love everything about Cambodia and the rest of Southeast Asia and I don't ever see myself moving back to Europe.
Good luck with the new site guys!

Re: Introduce Yourself
G'day, this the third time I'm gonna try introducing myself, previous attempts saw my text deleted for some reason, I wrote to Orange Dragon to advise him and wish him luck but got no response. I've been a member (lurker) of the "other" forum for a number of years but can't log in there any more and my inquiring emails have gone unanswered..there is no reason I'm aware of that I could have been banned as I rarely post, but whatever, I'm not paranoid, yet!
I'm from Australia and first visited Cambodia in 2004 and have been making semi regular trips since. I have considered living there but on balance prefer the sports and amenities of home, my partner is definitely not interested in relocating believing it's no place to raise a child..
When I do visit I support a couple of different charities by working on whatever projects they have going, I admire the resilience of the Khmer and whilst I am regularly flabbergasted at some of the "customs" I love that a smile works wonders..
I won't be appearing here often as my point of view is usually stated by others, mostly.
I would like to see this, or any forum for that matter begin to play a role in the support of expats. Recently an Australian woman was jailed for smuggling heroin, the press reports stating she admitted to having done it before, my understanding is that she admitted to carrying a bag before, but was unaware it contained the drugs. She is said to be as naive as anybody could imagine and was seduced by the opportunity offered to her to buy goods in Cambodia and sell them at markets in Oz, I'm told she was a lonely gullible fool, but she now faces 20 plus years in jail, a hell of a price to pay!
I don't know what her life is like or if she has any support, but it would be great if members could take some time if they have it to see what might be done for her, and others in similar circumstances, a CEO support group if you like..just a thought..
Anyho, I look forward to reading more about life in Cambodia, best wishes

Nice intro, and welcome aboard! Glad you got registered this time! That might have been earlier on when we had to manually resend the activation email or do them manually. Either way, glad you got signed up!manwithtwobrains wrote:
