Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
50 years on and still one of my favorite albums
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Many of the botanically-challenged were taken in by the rumour that there were marijuana
plants on the cover. Peter Blake, one of the artists who arranged the scene, indignantly
denied this and was widely disbelieved.
Have a look at the cover and see who you can - or cannot - recognise.

Sir Joe Lockwood, head of EMI, was adamant that Mohandas Gandhi should be omitted; he said that it was likely
to prove impossible to find a printer in India willing to print the album sleeve and that, if a printer could be found
and the album sleeve were were to go on sale, Indian nationalists would attack the EMI subsidiary office and hurl
corrosive acid (NOT 'Lucy in the Sky' hallucinogenic acid) in the employees' faces.
