In a hygienic supply chain you shouldn't wash the meat, as it spreads bacteria to your sink.
The thing I look out for here is people prepping the food on the floor by the toilet. Also do they have soap in the kharsi. You should be used to tap water by now, there's always residue in your beer glass and on all your plates and cutlery.
