Better red than Dead
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

They must be the most capitalistic communists ever to have commied.
I think I favor the way they handle blatant corruption. You die.
If they would ever do that here there would be no one left.

Opportune time to tap growing Chinese market in Sihanoukville
25 May 2017
Following the steady rise of tourism in Sihanoukville, property development in the coastal town is heavily targeting the nonstop influx of Chinese flocking to the area.
Although Sihanoukville has, in recent times, been synonymous with a growing number of Chinese tourists, currently it is going through an even more progressive overhaul to accommodate the rapid rise of visitors from the People’s Republic.
Taing Sochet Krisna, director of the Preah Sihanouk provincial tourism department, said when it came to the tourist and investment market in the area, the Chinese outnumbered other nationalities such as Russians and Americans.
“When we talk about tourists, the accommodation is important,” he said.
“A lot of hotels are being required when the Chinese come to Sihanoukville. As such, local people started to build these facilities to cater to the Chinese who come to visit, work and live.”
Nowadays, many hotels, guesthouses and homestays are being booked by the Chinese. According to a 2016 report from the Ministry of Tourism, the number of Chinese visitors to Sihanoukville increased from 39,581 people in 2015 to 53,177 people in 2016...

Re: Is Cambodia Ready for Chinese Tourists ?
I live in China and can tell you no where is ready for Chinese tourists. I used to go to khao Lak, Thailand twice a year. I had a great resort I booked every July & August... until two years ago when Chinese tour groups started staying there. Planes from China land at HKT around 3:00 AM which means they check-in around 5:00 AM - smashing and crashing their luggage and scream-talking to each other between balconies and on their phones. The once peaceful breakfast buffet became an absolute madhouse of mayhem.
You could be next.

Locusts. I fear for all of SE Asia. Some people should SERIOUSLY reconsider retiring there near future. NO WAY the money they represent will be turned down, especially by corrupt officials.

PHNOM PENH, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Almost 1.1 million Chinese tourists had visited Cambodia in the first seven months of 2018, up 72.6 percent over the same period last year, said Cambodian Tourism Ministry's latest report released Monday.
Chinese holidaymakers accounted for 31.7 percent of the international tourists to the kingdom during the January-July period this year, the report said, adding that China topped the chart among the top 10 international arrivals to the country.
According to the report, the Southeast Asian country welcomed a total of 3.45 million international tourists during the first seven months of this year, up 11 percent over the same period last year.
Cambodian Tourism Minister Thong Khon has projected that Cambodia would attract at least 1.7 million Chinese tourists in 2018 and up to 2.5 million in 2020.
Cambodia is famous for three world heritage sites, namely the Angkor archeological park in northwestern Siem Reap province, the Preah Vihear temple in northwestern Preah Vihear province, and the Sambor Prei Kuk archeological site in central Kampong Thom province.
Besides, it has a pristine coastline stretching 450 km in four southwestern provinces of Koh Kong, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot and Kep.
Last year, Cambodia got 5.6 million foreign tourists including 1.21 million Chinese, earning gross revenue of 3.6 billion U.S. dollars.
