The explanation given for this outbreak of violence, so extreme that police had to fire in the air five times to break it up, is that the Chinese workers were fighting for the attentions of two massage ladies. The two women in question have been identified as Tang Thi Ngoc Ya aka Sokha, aged 25, and Ly Sokhchea, 26, from Phnom Khiev Massage, Village 1, Sangkat 2, Sihanoukville.
The 13 men that were arrested are Chinese nationals, aged from 23 to 38, who are all living on the construction site where they are employed.
