Go Tuk Tuk (Uber-like Taxi App For Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, Cambodia)
I just saw an ad for Go Tuk Tuk, which seems to be a tuk tuk on demand app, similar to the Uber Taxi app. Only in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap too.
I can't imagine that anyone would need to use an app to get a TukTuk ride anywhere in Cambodia, besides the countryside. Surely you'd have to tell about 10 Tuk-Tuk drivers "NO THANK YOU!" about 5 times each before you even take out your phone to use Go Tuk a Tuk to call/order one m
Has anyone used it?
I couldn't find much info, but presumably it's a metered taxi service. I'm going to guess that it's pricey and mainly geared towards tourists who don't know the prices.
Looks like Stroppy isn't the only one riding around Phnom Penh in a bright, yellow TukTuk these days, LoL. He was just ahead of the trend!

Seriously though, friends used that new taxi app service the other day to visit our house at Boeung Tompun, I was really impressed with the service. It was on time, and ALMOST found the right house - which isn't so bad given the houses aren't numbered in our street. Google Maps had us a few houses away. Apparently cheaper than a tuk-tuk and no scamming around about the price at the end of the ride.
I must admit to having a little chuckle each time a yeay on the side of the street tries to flag me down for a ride, and the look of confusion, then anger, then curiosity as I slow down to yell "som toh, cannot."

Really?! I'm gonna try them later this week then. Hard to imagine them lasting. They make more money scamming people.StroppyChops wrote:

Let's see... there's the "no have change" scam, the "you not understand me" scam, the much more rare "no, price is for each person" scam, the "you bigger, use more gasoline, I not know before" scam, the simple "one more" scam, the "is raining now" scam ... others?General Mackevili wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2017 5:27 pmReally?! I now see why you do so well with your TukTuk.StroppyChops wrote:Let's see... there's the "no have change" scam, the "you not understand me" scam, the much more rare "no, price is for each person" scam, the "you bigger, use more gasoline, I not know before" scam, the simple "one more" scam, the "is raining now" scam ... others?General Mackevili wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2017 5:27 pmReally?!
