Not sure if anyone actually "loved to visit" Syria, but the article lists the Maldives, Indonesia, Madagascar, the Philippines and Thailand as being "on the verge of erupting into a hell". Take care and avoid like the plague.WE’VE been frightened away from Egypt, forced to rethink Turkey and absolutely banned from going anywhere near Syria.
These were destinations holiday-makers loved to visit until violence and political upheaval made them no-go zones.
But there are other, perhaps some surprising, spots around the world on the verge of erupting into a hell of their own, because trouble — or a new wave of trouble — is brewing in paradise.

I may be going to hell in a bucket,
but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Agreed. The international media tend to make out that far-away places are worse than they really are, while the reality on the ground is usually different. Egypt was a hell-hole 25 years ago, and it's gotten a lot worse since.Username Taken wrote:Good thing we're in Cambodia.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Believe it or not, Syria was a tourist destination and it was pretty stable before the U.S. went and ruined Iraq. Combined with the security vacuum, they actively promoted and armed a resistance movement against Assad, much like they did to Sihanouk.

In the first image you can see the phrase "Democracy is a failed system". If mankind did not introduce democracy until the 18th century, there may be a very good reason for that. The West has tried to impose democracy in places where they don't want a voting circus. The locals want to get rid of it. That's why you have all the turmoil over there. Furthermore, the West is playing a very dangerous game. Millions of these people end up in Europe, and continue over there, whatever they did not like about democracy.
As soon as these people have a parliament, the West sponsors and bribes that parliament to adopt newly-invented laws that overrule their religion and traditions. Hence, the locals want to get rid of such parliament. It is the same in Cambodia. It is French lawyers who write all the so-called "democratic" laws that the local parliament rubber stamps, after receiving Lexus cars for doing so.
These places are not dangerous to someone like me. Why would they? They don't like the West over there, but I also don't; and pretty much for the same reasons. That is why I am here. In fact, anybody is safe over there. If you agree to obey to the laws of God, regardless of what religion you confess to, you should be ok. These places are only dangerous to godless unbelievers. But so what? Since when should I care about that?

'They kill defenceless people': thousands flee Philippine city of Marawi
26 May 2017
Three-day battle between army and Isis-linked Maute insurgents for city on island of Mindanao has left at least 46 dead.
In a sign that the long-standing problem of militancy in the south could be expanding, the solicitor general, Jose Calida, said foreigners were fighting alongside the gunmen in Marawi, including Indonesians and Malaysians. Calida called the violence an “invasion by foreign terrorists, who heeded the call of Isis to go to the Philippines if they find difficulty in going to Iraq and Syria”.
Aerial bombardments and street battles have forced thousands to flee, blocking roads for miles outside Marawi. Convoys of evacuees escorted by soldiers have flooded into nearby Iligan City.
Hamida Disangcupan, 51, said she ran into the street carrying bags of belongings after clashes erupted near her home on Thursday.
“We heard Isis had been here for several days. Soldiers came to tell us to evacuate. But where can we go?” she said, adding that she had been able to take temporary shelter in her sister’s house but would have to find more permanent accommodation.

ISIS is killing people in The Phillipines. I thought that was the government's job.
